Locally grown food
We need greater food resilience. Along with 15 min neighbourhoods should sit local spaces for market gardens. Planning needs to allow for polytunnels etc. and other construction to support food production.
Why the contribution is important
Shorter supply chains mean less carbon. Climate change brings greater risk of crop failure so a wider distribution of growing brings resilience. There will also be an increased link to and understanding of food production which is important in education of diet, land management/guardianship, nature and elimination of food waste.
