A country cannot grow its economy in the long term if its young people cannot grow their own futures in that country.

Re-introduction of traditional (horse and cart days) farmers markets on a rotating basis round the larger villages and towns. Village and town centres and road layouts could be re-designed or predesignated on  certain days to allow a traffic free area on certain weekdays to allow covered market stalls to be set up. Special market buses on these particular market days would collect people who wish to shop.

Further, opportunities should be accessible and available to young people who wish to start up a business. There should be business enterprise bureau’s located in all towns and larger villages. These may not need to be staffed on all days or all times but the opportunity for advice, grants and further funding should be freely available.

Why the contribution is important

The more opportunities available, the more people can hope to grow their own futures.

There is plenty of advice and support for business start ups already -the first step in setting up your own business is to seek it out.

Particularly like the idea of supporting people esp young people setting up businesses, and that these opportunities should be widespread, not just in the towns and city.

Could be integrated with the 15 minute Neighbourhood ideas, too.

Farmers markets would likely develop from these neighbourhoods, too, think of the food miles we could save!
