Protect and preserve all groundwater
Bath was built, as was nearly every other conurbation, village and hamlet around water, be it cold or hot, drinking or bathing. I believe we often forget that before the introduction of pipes, be they of elm, lead or plastic the only source of water was from the ground or streams (and most often the open streams in B&NES start their journey from underground springs) It is vital that there is given adequate protection in law and that preservation of groundwater is embodied in local plan policy.
Why the contribution is important
The heritage of Bath is founded on groundwater, so too are the villages of the District with their Water Wells and Springs, we must protect these assets.
