More greenery in new developments

What I like - the whole idea of us changing all our practices to give nature a better chance of us fighting climate change.

What I'd add - please can new developements include proper amounts of greenery. Lockdown has shown that it is really important for mental health to see green or natural things through windows, especially if you are housebound (or shielding during lockdown scenarios, who knows there might be many more before 2030). And, add more greenery in exisiting streets and neighbourhoods.

Why the contribution is important

We are part of nature and we've got into a postion where we're destroying it fast. We need to care for and nurture it.

...and maybe new developments should focus on the need for low-cost and social housing, rather than new estates built for profit that only suck more people into an already crowded city, with all the environmental implications that that involves. We are fortunate that our city has such a beautiful rural setting - it's one of the reasons that it's a World Heritage Site - so let's keep it that way.

As well as more greenery ensure that nature corridors are included at the small scale as well as larger scale e.g. provide gaps in fences for hedgehogs to move between gardens ...wildlife ponds .....insect hotels - maybe funding for communities to develop their own nature zones
